Benton County's Threatened & Endangered Species

As small as Benton County Oregon is, it still has several species listed as threatened or endangered under the Federal Endangered Species Act, as well as several rare species. Federally Listed Species include the following not pictured here: Fender’s Blue Butterfly (Icaricia icarioides fenderi) Taylor’s Checkerspot Butterfly (Euphydryas editha taylori) Kincaid’s Lupine (Lupinus sulphureus ssp. kincaidii) Streaked Horned Lark (Eremophila alpestris strigata)

Peacock Larkspur (Delphinium pavonaceum) a localized endemic restricted to the Willamette Valley. It's largest population is located in William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge in Benton County where this image was taken. The Peacock Larkspur is listed as endangered under the Oregon Endangered Species Act, and is a Federal Species of Concern.
